      • I don’t think this was 1964. It looks like 1962. If this was ’64 she would have been promoting Unforgettable since she didn;t sell many LPs but mostly singles as she has stated in interviews.

      • Hi James, I’m still trying to get more information, but to my eyes it seems that these 5 performances in the “steve allen show” took place in 1964 May 19th … look at her hair and eyebrows, in all 5 videos look the same … and yes, she were promoting “Unforgettable” (in the beggining of “lover come back to me” appears the cover of the this LP), but I think she made a own review of his career by playing one song from every of the 5 LP’s she had done: “Won’t be long” (AF with The Ray Bryant Combo), “Lover Come Back To Me” (The Tender, The Moving, The Swinging AF), “Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody” (The Electrifying AF), “Skylark” (Laughing On The Outside) and “Evil Gal Blues” (Unforgettable) … do you agree?

      • Yes..I totally agree! She does look groomed in the same manner for all of these. This was the year she was crowned New Queen of the Blues at the Arie Crown Theatre after Dinah Washington passed . The history books (I think, thanks to Aretha, have changed that date and title to “Queen of Soul” ). Even in her autobiography she says she was crowned Queen of Soul and show the photo of Pervis crowning her. Remember the Jet cover from 1967?
